Turkey strongly condemns the abhorrent terrorist attacks which caused a high number of casualties and aimed at the peace, security and the stability of the region, in the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul and in the city of Peshawar, Pakistan yesterday (11 February).

Turkey follows the developments in Kabul with great sorrow and concern. Furthermore, the death of Alamzeb Khan, member of the Provincial Assembly of North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan, has been another source of grief.

Terrorism has shown its heinous face with these attacks. In this framework Turkey, which stresses that terrorism is a crime against humanity regardless of its sources and pretexts in all its regional and bilateral contacts, underlines the vital importance of effective international cooperation and solidarity in the fight against terrorism.

We extend our condolences to the brotherly people of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
